Dowel Anchoring Epoxy
Construction Chemicals

Chemical anchoring for rebar dowels and threaded studs

When a slab, column or wall has to be extended after the concrete has already been cast, the connection depends entirely on how well the new starter bars are anchored into the existing structure. A drilled hole filled by hand with mortar will not develop the bar.

Injection epoxy fills the annulus completely and bonds chemically to both the concrete and the bar, developing anchorage that in most cases exceeds the yield strength of the steel itself. It is the standard method for structural extensions, retrofits and strengthening work.

Supplied to contractors and builders, or supplied and applied by our own teams with a written warranty.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Bond strength that typically exceeds rebar yield in sound concrete
  • Solvent-free, high-modulus two-component epoxy
  • Injected through a static mixer nozzle, which removes site mixing errors
  • Fills the full annulus including overhead and horizontal holes
  • Non-expansive, safe close to slab edges and in thin sections
  • Suitable for dry, damp and water-filled holes (grade dependent)
  • Fast strength gain, with loading possible within hours

Where It Is Used

  • Post-installed rebar dowels for slab and column extensions
  • Starter bars for new walls, staircases and beams
  • Threaded rod anchors for machine bases and steel columns
  • Railing, gate and canopy fixings
  • Facade bracket and cladding anchor fixing
  • Structural strengthening and retrofit connections

Packaging & Supply

380 ml and 585 ml coaxial cartridges with static mixer nozzles; bulk packs for large programmes.

Method

How It Is Applied

The sequence our teams follow, and the sequence we recommend to contractors buying the material from us.

Drill

Drill to the specified diameter and depth with a rotary hammer, avoiding existing reinforcement.

Clean the hole

Blow, brush, blow, and repeat at least twice. Dust left in the hole is the single biggest cause of anchor failure.

Inject

Dispense from the base of the hole upward, withdrawing the nozzle steadily and filling about two-thirds of the depth.

Insert the bar

Push the clean bar in with a slow twisting motion. Excess resin should be pushed out at the mouth.

Cure undisturbed

Do not move or load the bar during the specified cure time.
