Non-Shrink Grout
Construction Chemicals

Full-contact bearing under base plates, bearings and machine feet

A machine base is only as good as the grout under it. Ordinary sand-cement shrinks as it cures, leaving voids and edge gaps that turn into vibration, bolt loosening and eventually cracked plinths.

Non-shrink grout expands slightly in the plastic state to compensate for that shrinkage, filling the space completely and transferring load evenly. We supply both cementitious grout for general structural work and epoxy grout where chemical attack, vibration or very high early strength is involved.

Supplied to contractors and builders, or supplied and applied by our own teams with a written warranty.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Positive expansion, so there is no settlement shrinkage and full bearing contact
  • Free-flowing at high fluidity without segregation or bleeding
  • High early and ultimate compressive strength
  • Available cementitious (general) and epoxy (chemical / high vibration)
  • Chloride-free, safe around reinforcement and anchor steel
  • Pumpable or pourable, suitable for tight gaps and deep pockets
  • Single-component powder, just add clean water on site

Where It Is Used

  • Machine bases, pumps, compressors and generator foundations
  • Column base plates and structural steel bearing pads
  • Anchor bolts, dowel bars and holding-down bolt pockets
  • Bridge bearings and crane rail bases
  • Precast connections and structural gap filling
  • Repair of honeycombed and voided concrete sections

Packaging & Supply

25 kg moisture-resistant bags. Epoxy grout supplied as a pre-weighed three-part kit.

Method

How It Is Applied

The sequence our teams follow, and the sequence we recommend to contractors buying the material from us.

Prepare

Roughen and clean the concrete base, remove all laitance, oil and loose material, then saturate to a damp surface-dry condition.

Formwork

Fix leak-tight formwork with a head box on the pouring side and a small vent on the far side.

Mix

Add powder to the measured water and mix mechanically for 3–5 minutes to a lump-free, flowing consistency.

Pour

Pour continuously from one side only so air is pushed ahead of the grout. Never vibrate, because it causes segregation.

Cure

Cure exposed edges with wet hessian or a curing compound for at least 3 days.
