An exposed dark roof slab in Karachi can cross 65 °C on a summer afternoon. That heat conducts straight into the top floor, drives up air-conditioning load, and makes the slab expand and contract enough to crack the very waterproofing that is protecting it.
Heat proofing attacks the problem at the surface. A high-reflectance coating bounces most of the solar radiation back before it becomes heat, and where more is needed we add insulation board or an insulated screed beneath the waterproofing layer.
Supplied to contractors and builders, or supplied and applied by our own teams with a written warranty.
| Systems | Reflective coating / XPS & EPS board / insulated screed / EIFS facade |
|---|---|
| Coating solar reflectance | Typically 0.80 – 0.88 for white grades |
| Surface temperature | Reflective coatings lower the slab surface temperature. We measure your roof before and after so the change is recorded, not estimated. |
| Indoor benefit | Depends on slab thickness, insulation, glazing and ventilation. Assessed at survey stage for your building. |
| Board thickness options | 25, 40 and 50 mm XPS / EPS |
| Coating coverage | 1.0 – 1.4 kg/m² in two coats |
| Combined function | Waterproofing plus heat reflection in one build-up |
Typical values for guidance. Actual figures vary by grade and manufacturer. The data sheet for the exact product supplied on your project is provided with delivery.
Coatings in 20 kg pails; insulation boards in standard 1200 × 600 mm sheets.
The sequence our teams follow, and the sequence we recommend to contractors buying the material from us.
We measure the existing roof surface temperature and assess the slab condition and drainage falls.
Cracks and drainage are corrected and the waterproofing layer applied first.
Insulation board or insulated screed is laid where the design calls for it.
Two coats of high-reflectance coating are applied at right angles to full coverage.
Surface temperature is measured again after cure so the improvement is documented, not assumed.
